Possible Breakout Stars for Sooners

You have your Baker Mayfields, Samaje Perines, and Dede Westbrooks, but if you are looking for an under the radar player who is ready to break out, look no further than this list.

The 6’2 RS JR  has never gotten to show what he brings to the table. In his time at OU he has suffered from a broken foot and a torn ACL. Smallwood is a tall receiver and also the strongest of the bunch. He has steady hands and quick feet. Look for him to have a break through year as the #3 or #4 wide receiver.

NEVILLE GALLIMORE

According to The Football Brainiacs, Gallimore has had a very impressive summer. When he first came to the Sooners it sounds like it was a much faster, and harder game than it was in Canada. Now that he is in better shape, look for him to contribute to the defensive line who recently lost Charles Tapper.

CALEB KELLY

One of the most highly touted recruits in recent Sooners history, Kelly has a chance to step in and play right away. Line backer is really wide open other than Jordan Evans, which means someone really has to step up. Kelly is quick for a LB but is also tall and can help stop the run. If the defense is going to be as good as last year, the void left at LB will have to be filled.

MARK ANDREWS

Not saying MANdrews didn’t have a huge impact last year, what I’m saying is, look for him to be even more of a game changer. Out of his 19 receptions last year, 7 of them went for TDs. Look for him to be more of a factor in the passing game and reel in quite a few more catches this season.
