The recruiting class of 2017 at The University of Oklahoma, is one of the best we have seen. Today, with the addition of 4 Star Defensive End/Linebacker, Addison Gumbs, it upped the class even more.
Gumbs is 6’4″, 220LBS, and straight out of Stellar Prep, in Hayward, California. He is listed as the No. 167 overall prospect of the recruiting class of 2017. He is the 19th best high school football player in the state of California, and the #10 weak-side defensive end in the country.
Gumbs had offers to 29 different colleges including, Nebraska, USC, UCLA, Texas A&M, and Oregon.
Addison Gumbs took to Twitter to make his announcement, saying “Blessed to say I’ve committed to Oklahoma”.
Gumbs during an interview with Greg Biggins of scout.com:
“I was looking for a school where I could win a national championship, play for a great coaching staff and a place that felt like home to me and that had that family feel and OU filled all those needs. It was a very tough decision but I feel really good about it and I can’t wait to be a Sooner.”
According to 247 Sports, Oklahoma is ranked 5th in the nation, and first in the Big 12 when it comes to recruiting. Addsion Gumbs is the 19th player to join #SoonerSquad17.
