During the WCWS Championship Series Game 1 (Won by the Sooners 7-5 in 17 innings), the Sooners football team picked up a big recruit; JUCO product DT Dillon Faamatau.
Faamatau redshirted for a year at Arizona State, before attending Cerritos College of Nowalk, CA. He played 10 games last season, where he recorded 32 tackles, one of which was a sack.
He commited to the class of 2018 at USC at the end of April, but flipped to OU soon after his official visit last weekend, so he could play D1 this coming season. He will be able to play 3 seasons for the Sooners.
Faamatau commited on Twitter, saying ” “It’s like that, and that’s the way it is Huh!” Oklahoma ⭕️ #BoomerSooner #OUDNA”.
If there is any part of the team that needs more structure, it is the defensive line, which Faamatau will surely contribute much help this fall. He is the third Defensive Tackle of #SoonerSquad17.
