This season, the Sooners could possibly have one of the deepest receiving corps in the country, consisting of SR Jeff Badet, RS JR Nick Basquine, SO Marquise Brown, RS SO Sam Iheke, SO Mykel Jones, RS SO Michael Mays, SR Jeffery Mead, JR A.D. Miller, RS SO Lee Morris, JR Chase Nevel, RS SR Jordan Smallwood, RS JR Myles Tease, RS JR Reggie Turner, RS FR Nathan Womack, RS JR Mark Andrews, FR CeeDee Lamb, and FR Charleston Rambo. The group will be one of the Sooners’ biggest scoring threat.
The Sooners don’t lose many from the group next season, but as of Monday night, they added a big time player to the bunch; 4-Star Wide Receiver JaQualyn Crawford.
Crawford attends Rockdale High School in Rockdale, TX. He ranks as the #51 WR in the Country and #11 in the State of Texas for the 2018 Recruiting Class. He visited the Sooners in late-May. He wanted to wait to make his decision. He is a perfect addition as a slot receiver to the Sooners’ offense.
Crawford is 5’10” 163lbs, plays receiver, and can also return kicks. He is crazy fast, running a 4.55 40 Yard Dash and a 4.33 Shuttle Run, so Sooner Fans should look forward to his speed on the line and returning kicks in just a few seasons.
He took to Twitter to make his announcement, saying “First off I’d like to thank God for allowing me to be in this position, for without him nothing i’m doing would be possible. Secondly, I’d like to appreciate every coach, teammate, family member and anyone else who has been a part of my journey for every bit of support and help. I didn’t get here by myself.. I’d also like to thank every college or university who gave me an opportunity to play at the next level. Playing college football has always been a dream of mine and I will forever be grateful for every off I received. The recruiting process was crazy but I enjoyed every second of it. I wouldn’t change anything about it. But the longer I was recruited one school started to stand out. That school was the University of Oklahoma.. It felt like home and I believe Coach Riley will do big things there, and I want to be a part of it. So with that being said I AM COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA! #BoomerSooner #ST2K18”
Lincoln Riley has worked miracles with recruiting in his short time as Head Coach, so all we have left to ask is who’s next?
